European Inventor Award Open for Proposals

The 5th Annual European Inventor Award is now open for proposals. Established in 2006 as an initiative of the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Commission, this distinguished Award celebrates outstanding inventors from all over the world and in all technical fields.

A high-profile international jury, comprising entrepreneurs, managers, scientists, researchers, investors and journalists will select the winners. The Awards will be presented at a grand ceremony in Madrid in April 2010. Awards are presented in four categories: Industry, SMEs/Research, Lifetime Achievement, Non-European Countries.

Anyone may propose a candidate for the European Inventor Award 2010 - inventors may even enter themselves. The primary criterion for participating inventors is that they hold at least one valid European patent. To enter yourself or another inventor for the European Inventor Award, you need to fill out an entry form and submit it to the EPO. The deadline for proposals is 12th September.
