FRKelly Appoints two new Partners

FRKelly is pleased to announce the appointment on January 1, 2006 of new Partners, Mary Bleahene and Alan Wallace.

Commenting on the new appointments, Managing Partner Gerald Kinsella said that "together with other new Associates who have joined the firm recently, the new Partner appointments demonstrate the firm's unremitting commitment to excellence and personal service. The firm provides a broad platform of expertise and experience in all areas of Intellectual Property."

Alan has a Masters in Engineering and is a European Patent Attorney and Community Trade Mark Attorney. He handles a wide range of patent and trade mark matters and has a special interest in electronics and software-related inventions. He joined FRKelly in 1995 after a period with the Centre of Applied Microelectronics (ZAM eV) in Nurnberg, Germany. Alan is an associate member of IEE (Institute of Electrical Engineers).

Mary specializes in the areas of licensing, due diligence, trade mark portfolio management, infringement and passing off. She joined FRKelly in 2001, having spent over a decade practising trade mark law in private practice in London. Mary qualified as a UK Trade Mark Attorney in 1993.

Before starting her career in IP, Mary worked as a software engineer, and she maintains a keen interest in trade mark issues relating to the internet, particularly domain name issues. She is admitted as a Solicitor in Ireland, and also in England and Wales. She has written and spoken widely on trade mark matters throughout her career. Mary is a Member of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
