Reduction in CTM Fees from 1 May

The official fees for Community trade marks will be reduced by 40% as of 1 May 2009.

There will be an official filing fee, but no registration or other official fees. The new filing fee will be €900 which roughly equates to around €33 per EU member state, compared to €750 at present. Further details can be found on the OHIM website.

Trade mark applications pending as of 1 May 2009 will not be subject to a registration fee, providing that the fee has not been requested by the OHIM. Therefore, FRKelly clients who are contemplating filing Community trade mark applications can avail of the lower official filing fee by filing their trade mark application before 1 May 2009.
