Tara Jennings

Tara handles a wide range of patent issues, and has considerable experience in drafting and prosecuting chemical and pharmaceutical European and PCT patent applications. Her expertise also includes matters relating to infringement, due diligence and patent searches. She has prosecuted patent applications in wide ranges of technologies within the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological areas.
Tara joined FRKelly in 2000, having graduated from the National University of Ireland, Galway with a first class honours degree in Chemistry & Applied Chemistry. She qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2004 having passed all of her European exams in the first sitting. She is a registered Irish Patent Attorney, Community Trade Mark Attorney and Irish Trade Mark Attorney. Tara has, since 2004, tutored patent trainees on many aspects of European and Irish patent law.
Tara has been involved with a patent portfolio of a large multinational company that specialises in food science, in particular bio-ingredients for use in the food and beverage industry. She works with large US firms in the prosecution of patent applications before the European Patent Office. Tara has also been involved in European opposition work, in technical areas ranging from chemical detergents to micro-organisms used in food products.
