Drafting charges and initial filings

These fees can only be established when you have discussed your invention in detail with us. Costs depend on, among other things, the complexity of the invention, the range of variations and embodiments, the quality of the information and drawings provided to us etc.

Typical filing charges for associates

These fees apply only to established firms of patent attorneys or corporations with in-house counsel who instruct us on behalf of the applicant or patentee.  Where we are instructed directly by the applicant or patentee and retain responsibility for their patent rights in general, higher charges will normally apply to reflect the additional responsibility and communication required on our part.

In all cases these fees are given for general guidance and do not substitute for an individual estimate.

Irish Patent Application

Convention European Patent Application

(a) Basic cost inc. official fees (10 claims) €2195 (b) Payment of Examination and 7 Designation fees (due 6 months from publication of search report) €2450

Euro-PCT Application*

(a) Basic cost inc. official fees (10 claims)  €3900

*Assumes that the case was not searched or examined by the EPO.  If the EPO was the ISA and produced an EISR, a reduction of €800 applies. If the EPO, acting as IPEA, carried out a substantive examination of the PCT application, a further reduction applies.
