Gearoid is a European patent attorney based in our Belfast office, having joined FRKelly in 2018. He has experience in patent prosecution relating to nanotechnology, phosphor compositions, medical devices, MEMs, semiconductor technology, optics, telecommunications, and software-related inventions including machine learning applications.
Gearoid earned his Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Cambridge and his BSc in Physics from Queen Mary University of London. His undergraduate thesis reviewed contemporary techniques in microscopy including contemporary optical setups, image processing algorithms, and the use of quantum dot technology in medical applications. This followed from a funded research placement conducted at Queen Mary University of London. Gearoid is also a recipient of the Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property from Bournemouth University.
