Judy's Story

Judy has worked in the Intellectual Property arena for some 20 years. She is an experienced Trade Mark Attorney, having worked in the Patent and Trade Mark Departments of Dublin and London-based intellectual property firms, including the London Office of a large US Intellectual Property firm. Although having a science background and starting off her career in the patent arena, Judy quickly became drawn to trade marks and has worked exclusively in this area for close to 18 years.

Judy represents both local and international clients directly before the Irish, UK and European Trade Mark Offices and, through an established network of associates, co-ordinates world-wide filing programmes on behalf of her clients. She prides herself on providing client-focused, strategic, relevant, cost-effective and practical advice to all of her clients. Judy has a keen business acumen and strives to always be pro-active instead of re-active when representing her clients. Her clients operate in vast and varied arenas ranging from the pharmaceutical and medical devices arena to the food and fashion industries, and everything in between.

Judy likes to be a one stop Trade Mark shop for her clients dealing in all Trade Mark matters starting from pre-filing advice and searches and then Trade Mark filings, prosecutions, oppositions, revocations and invalidations. She also advises on Trade Mark infringement and passing off matters, domain name issues and detentions made by Customs. Judy is passionate about sharing her Trade Mark knowledge with others and regularly tutors on the subject for the Irish Law Society on its various Intellectual Property courses and for the Irish Association of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys.

In her spare time, Judy enjoys spending time with family and friends, long walks in the countryside, listening to music of all varieties, dancing (although this activity is generally confined to her kitchen these days!), and some retail therapy thrown in for good measure.
